Marty and Julie
We would like to thank you for reading our letter. We would like to thank you even more for choosing adoption for your child. It takes tremendous courage to make the decisions you are being forced to make. We pray that God will guide you and bless you during this time. The fact that you are pursuing adoption shows the great love and concern you must have for your baby.
We are Marty, Julie, and Kylie Ellis and we live near Nacogdoches, Texas.
Nacogdoches is a small town of about 30,000 people in East Texas. We have been married for almost twelve years now. We live about ten miles out in the country in a nice home on five spacious acres. The area where we live is known for having lots of beautiful pine forests as well as many deer and hummingbirds.
Kylie is our little girl that we adopted through Adoption Works two years ago. She has been a great blessing in our life. She turned two in February and is talking more and more every day. We have a wonderful relationship with Kylie’s birth family. We email them letters and pictures frequently and visit them several times a year. We enjoy having a relationship with them and think it is and will continue to be very important for Kylie as she grows up.
We would welcome any level of relationship with you and your family that you might desire. If you would prefer to limit the relationship, that would be fine as well. Kylie would make a great older sister for your baby! Julie grew up in a military family and has lived in many interesting places, including Alaska and Germany. She taught fourth grade at the school near our home for several years. Julie has always had a great love for children and now enjoys staying home with Kylie and being a full time mommy.
Some of her main hobbies include cooking (especially cookies), scrapbooking, sewing, and quilting. Marty received his Master’s degree from Texas A&M University and runs his own company in the timber industry. Being his own boss gives him great flexibility in his schedule. He often takes advantage of that to spend more time with Kylie. Marty has a wonderful sense of humor and always seems to make everyone laugh and feel at home. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and reading.
The three of us enjoy doing everything together. We vacationed quite a lot before Kylie came along. We have continued to do that since then as well. Last year we spent a week at Yellowstone National Park. Kylie simply loved the bears! She also enjoyed our trip to Galveston where she got to play at the beach. There is a group of young couples from our church that we enjoy meeting regularly for fellowship.
We have always had very close relationships with our extended families. Marty’s family has a large reunion every year. Most of Julie’s family lives about three hours away and we see them regularly. Marty’s parents as well as his sister and her family live within thirty minutes of us. Both of our families are very excited about us planning to adopt again and ask us about it all the time. Marty’s sister has two adopted girls from Kazakhstan. They are adorable!
We have been greatly blessed with a very wonderful marriage. Each of us has truly found our soulmate in one another. If given the opportunity to raise your precious baby we would provide a home full of love, a wonderful and supportive extended family, and a devoted Christian upbringing. We would always emphasize to your baby what a courageous decision you had made and how much love you have for him or her. We would also gladly consider whatever level of openness you would like to have.
We will be praying for your health and that God will guide you in the difficult decisions you have to make. Thank you for giving us your consideration.
