AdoptionWorks Waiting Family Spotlight: Scott & Sarah

Scott and Sarah are high school sweethearts and have been married for 16 years. They had the honor of being the parents to their daughter, Emma, who passed away at age 6 from a heart defect. They now have the joy of being parents to their daughter Everly. They also have an awesome dog, Max. They are very excited to be on the adoption journey again.

Scott is a pharmacist and Sarah works for their church preschool.

After much research and prayer, we chose AdoptionWorks because of their desire to place Christian morals and values into every aspect of the adoption process. We also found it extremely important that AdoptionWorks supports each part of the adoption triad equally. We have been very pleased with the support and encouragement from the AdoptionWorks team.

Our family loves to travel. We especially love camping, hiking, fishing, snow skiing, and water sports. We love spending time together in the Colorado mountains and at the lake with our family and friends.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that our family can be a light in this world.
  • Prayers for Sarah as she welcomes a new class of students.
  • Prayers that Everly will have a wonderful year at preschool.
  • Prayers for Scott as he works in the healthcare industry during this time.

AdoptionWorks Waiting Family Spotlight: Dennis & Jennifer

Dennis and Jennifer have been married for 11 years. They have been blessed to adopt three awesome kiddos and are hopeful to grow their family again through adoption.

Dennis is the director of engineering for a hardware company, and Jennifer is a stay-at-home mom.

We chose AdoptionWorks because we love their holistic care for every member of the adoption triad, birth parents, adoptees, and adoptive parents. Our first experience with AdoptionWorks was when our family took part in a post-adoption support group. It was a such great experience for the whole family and when the Lord put adoption on our hearts again we knew AdoptionsWorks would be the best choice for our family.

We love to travel as a couple and as a family, we are always up for an adventure whether it is overseas or in our backyard.

Please pray for us as we enter a new school year and special prayers for Jennifer and her son as begin their first year of homeschooling.

AdoptionWorks Waiting Family Spotlight: Dustin & Megan

Dustin and Megan have been married for 13 years this month. They currently share their home and their heart with their sweet little dog, Toby; they are hopeful to grow their family through adoption.

Dustin works as a minister with children and families, and Megan is the director of their church preschool.

When asked why they chose AdoptionWorks, they said, “We partnered with AdoptionWorks on this journey for many reasons. We value that AdoptionWorks is first and foremost Christ-centered. The entire AW staff is so caring, and they reflect the heart of God in all that they do for all sides of the adoption triad. We also really appreciate the support they provide to both waiting families as well as the continued promise to support and walk beside families post-placement.”

During this past year, while so much was shut down due to COVID, Dustin and Megan found a new hobby…running! It wasn’t something they had ever really done before, but it’s now become something fun that they enjoy doing together. They’ve even completed three 5Ks in the past 10 months.

“It’s been a lot of fun to try something new! It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been beneficial in so many areas of our life. It’s also reminded us that it’s never too late to try something new and that with perseverance and dedication, we can do hard things!”

-Pray for them to take joy in the journey as they see what God has in store for their family

-Pray for patience in their waiting

-Pray for Dustin’s ministry

-Pray for Megan and the new upcoming school year at her preschool
